BC HIGH SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIP
May 30-June 1, 2019

17 Universal athletes participated BCHS Championships in Kelowna. Our members competed with discipline, dedication, and respect. During the three day meet, and under very warm conditions, multiple finals were reached, and many awards earned. Even more importantly there were a tremendous amount of Personal Best finishes.

Our appreciation to Coaches Jessie, Luca and Sabrina and Officials Kevin and Sue. Special shout-out to older UAC athletes Kenny, Natasha, Aaryanna and Kat for traveling to Kelowna to support our high school athletes.

The SFU meet was held on Sunday April 7, 2019, which was an outdoor season opener for some of our older athletes. All athletes competed in one age group, so our high school athletes were in the same group as University athletes. UBC Invitational, March 29th, 2019

Kenny Blackman opened his outdoor season with a commanding win in the 100M with a time of 10.85.

Grade 11 Student Prab Wicramaarachchi ran a huge personal best 400 with a result of 59.37, her season opener taking her under the 60 second mark for the first time. Watch her in lane 2.

Harry Jerome Indoor

The Harry Jerome Indoor Meet was held Saturday, February 2, at the Richmond Oval. UAC athletes competed very well, with many PB performances. Special thanks to other Club members, although not competing this weekend, who came out to cheer on their team-mates. We are proud of each and every one of you.

BC Junior Development Championship

Four UAC athletes ventured to Kelowna for the JD Championships this past weekend. The temperatures were very hot, but our athletes competed well, and were great representatives of our club.

BC SUMMER GAMES RECAP

The Games were in Duncan on Vancouver Island, July 19-22.

Great congratulations to Praise Aniamaka who broke a 25 year old BC Summer Games Triple Jump record with a 13.30 metre jump!!

Universal members participated in the BC Summer Games in many different ways.

Thanks to UAC coaches Iuliana, Sabrina, Jasmine and Komi for giving of their time to support the zone teams at the Games.

Oregon Relays, 2018
UAC Travels to Hayward Field

Six Universal Athletics Athletes were selected for invitation to compete at the prestigious Oregon relays event in Eugene Oregon, April 14 and 15.

Amanda Moore, Kenny Blackman, Aaryanna Kurucz, Manreet Sangha, Jasneet Nijjar and Katarina Vlahovic traveled to "Track City" with their familes, and had a valuable developmental experience at this large meet with a high level of competition.
Coach Jessie accompanied the UAC group.

Harry Jerome Indoor Games

The Harry Jerome Indoor Games, February 3, 2018, was a tremendous success for Universal Athletics. All of our athletes competed well, and most achieved Personal Bests at this very early season event.

Highlights:
Midget Boys 4X200 relay team (Sillars, Aniamaka, Chan, Gibbs) set a meet record with their gold level performance.
Jasneet Nijjar achieved a meet record in the 60 metres for youth women, and
Iyimi Fagbamiye set the 12 year old boys 60 metre record, both winning gold medals.

2017 Results

The 3rd Annual Universal Track & Field Meet

It was a grand weekend of sun, competition, PB's, samosas, podium photos, and friendship as athletes participated in the UAC 3rd Annual Meet on July 1-2, 2017. Our appreciation to all competitors who joined us this past weekend.

A tremendous thank you to everyone in our "Universal Family" who came out to support our club, and made the meet run smoothly.
